Richa Chadha, who brings home eco-friendly Ganesha idol during the festival, preaches about environmental damage during the celebrations. The actress says, “Environment should not be damaged because of a festival. During Ganpati, the entire city comes to a standstill. There is traffic, noise pollution, people bust crackers and the worst of all, I feel, is water pollution. The idols made from Plaster of Paris (POP) and other materials don’t dissolve in the water. The toxins also damage our marine life.” Besides imparting her knowledge on the subject, the actress urges fans to bring home the environment-friendly idol.
