Anurag Kashyap delivered a major flop at the box office with ‘Bombay Velvet’. The filmmaker however decided to take the blame of this failure on himself, “I have always believed that as a filmmaker I am in a completely different zone compared to others. Because when a film works, the credit goes to the entire team but when it fails, it is only the director because only he had the power to say a no somewhere. And the point at which he does not stop, is where his failures lie. Things that he did not stand up to and say no to does not work. As a filmmaker I am in a very privileged position to say a yes or a no to any project or a script or a story that comes across.” Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Karan Johar, ‘Bombay Velvet’ released in May and lost around Rs 90 crore at the box office windows.
