Salman Khan was recently announced as the Goodwill Ambassador of Indian contingent at Rio Olympics 2016. Several sportsmen like Yogeshwar Dutt and Milkha Singh criticized the Bollywood actor’s representation at the prestigious sports event such as Olympics.
While Salman Khan has maintained a stoic silence over the issue, his father Salim Khan took to Twitter to clear their stance, “Milkhaji, it is not Bollywood, it is the Indian film industry, and that too the largest in the world. The same industry which resurrected you from fading away in oblivion,” referring directly to Milkha Singh. Salim Khan further justified Salman Khan’s association with sports, “Salman Khan may not have competed but is an A level swimmer, cyclist and weightlifter. Sportsmen are performing because of sports lovers like us.”
