Emraan Hashmi in the garbs of cricketer Mohd Azharuddin doesn’t seem to have struck a chord with the audiences. ‘Azhar’, which is directed by Tony D’Souza, managed to collect Rs 6.30 crore on its opening day at the box office. At the end of four days at the Bollywood ticket windows, ‘Azhar’ collected approximately Rs 21 crore. Trade predicts that the movie may collect Rs 29 crore in its first week. ‘Azhar’ was made on a budget of Rs 38-40 crore and released in more than 2,000 screens across the country. The rights of the film have been sold off to Kumar Mangat and ‘Azhar’ may recover just about its production costs, terming the film flop to average.
