Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Zero’ has landed itself in controversy with Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC). General Secretary of the committee, Manjinder Singh Sirsa has requested that an FIR be lodged against SRK and director Aanand L Rai. “In the movie promo, film actor Shah Rukh Khan has been shown wearing Gatra Kirpan (article of Sikh faith), which has created an outrage among Sikh community worldwide. As per the Sikh rehat maryada, only Amritdhari Sikh person can wear Gatra Kirpan,” writes the General Secretary in his complaint. Sirsa has also written to Shah Rukh and Aanand L Rai demanding the objectionable promotional material to be withdrawn or the Sikh community will stage protests at the theatres and stop the film’s screening.
