Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon’s Mathura-based love-story, ‘Luka Chuppi’, has hit the right notes with the audience, bringing in a solid opening of Rs 8.01 crore, followed by a massive jump on Saturday, to Rs 10.08 crore. Interestingly, Kartik and Kriti’s performances have beaten the opening day numbers of hits like ‘Raazi’, ‘Stree’ and ‘Badhaai Ho’ individually! On the other hand, Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar and Manoj Bajpayee-starrer dacoit drama ‘Sonchiriya’ opened to a dull response with Rs 1.20 crore on Friday and a minimal growth, at Rs 1.50 crore on Saturday. ‘Luka Chuppi’ is Kartik’s biggest opening and might further increase with positive word of mouth, while ‘Sonchiriya’s box office verdict remains dull.
