After announcing Chhapaak nearly a year ago, the wait is finally over for our first glimpse at the Deeika Padukone starrer Chhapaak. And let’s just say, it was well worth the wait! Deepika Padukone’s last release was Padmavat back in 2018. She spent the last two years co-producing and prepping to play the character of a real life acid attack survivor. Deepika’s character is inspired by Laxmi Agarwal. In the trailer, we see malti’s journey from victim to survivor to a thrivers fight for justice. Huge props to Deepika and the prosthetic team for making everything real and believable.
Chhapaak is directed by Meghna Gulzar and is slated to release on January 10, 2020.
