Kangana Ranaut has been in the news lately for making many controversial statements. But today it was for a film that launched her as an actress. ‘Gangster’ released on April 28, 2006, a good 15 years ago and made enough noise to attract people into theatres. It was the debut vehicle for Kangana Ranaut who featured along with Emraan Hashmi and Shiney Ahuja. Reminiscing about ‘Gangster’, Kangana said, “15 years ago, ‘Gangster’ released today. Shah Rukh Khan-ji and mine are the biggest success stories ever, but SRK was from Delhi, convent educated and his parents were involved in films. I did not know a single word of English, no education, came from a remote village of Himachal Pradesh and every step was a battle starting with my own father and grandfather, who made my life miserable. And yet, 15 years later, after so much success, every day is still a fight for survival but totally worth it. Thank you, everyone.” Kangana also won the best debut in most of the award shows back then.
