As soon as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra announced the opening of theatres across the state, filmmakers made a beeline to announce their dates. Many big films have been completely ready and the cast and crew were only waiting for the big screens to open in Mumbai. Since cinema halls are opening doors of the territory which may constitute almost 40 percent of the theatrical business, Rohit Shetty and Akshay Kumar have jumped at the opportunity. ‘Sooryavanshi’ is scheduled to release around Diwali 2021, which will be just about 10 days away from the first day of resuming theatre operations. Confirming this news, Shetty said, “Thanks to our honourable Chief Minister, Shri Uddhav Thackeray, theatres in Maharashtra to reopen from 22nd October. And finally we can say, ‘this Diwali, aa rahi hai police!’’. The theatres were shut across many states in the country for almost six months.
