Mumbai, 21st July, 2015: India’s premier fashion and trade platform, Lakmé Fashion Week has taken a step further in innovation by reinventing the Jabong stage that will now offer a new dimension in fashion content. Other than showcasing 22 designers, the platform will play host to series of runway shows, seminars and workshops, during the course of the week, providing a powerful value proposition for the Indian fashion Industry. First time ever in India, a fashion week will give center stage to new age fashion content in the form of experimental presentations by established artistic designers such as Kallol Datta, Eina Ahluwalia, Little Shilpa and Bodice by Ruchika Sachdeva.
The newly transformed Jabong stage will also exhibit a myriad of designers, over 70% runway designers will comprise best of recent Gen Next alumni whereas the remaining will make their debut at Lakmé Fashion Week. Emerging design talent will be proposing intensive commercial presentations to important buyers, reinforcing business of fashion at Lakmé Fashion Week. Top talents in the industry will be anchoring the space, Vahbiz Mehta as the show director and Santu Misra as the emerging show stylist.
Jabong stage finds a new home at the spacious Pallazio room and will see a seating of over 250 guests. Incorporating an international format, it will feature a 66 feet long runway surface that is modular and will be introduced to showcase designer collections and edgy fashion content. The platform will also host a series of seminars on thought leadership and knowledge sharing initiatives, as well as talks on important issues concerning the Indian fashion fraternity.
