Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) today announced an installation of Rahul Mishra’s Paris Fashion Week SS’16 ensembles at the French Embassy on October 11, between 11:00am to 1:00pm. This is a part of the FDCI’s initiative to celebrate true heroes in the fashion world, who are steadily inching towards global glory.
Ambassador of France, Mr. François Richier, is delighted to host the showcasing of the installation, giving a chance to get up close and personal with Mishra’s unique ideology.
FDCI President, Mr Sunil Sethi exclaimed, “Rahul is a maverick, he has succeeded in showing the strength of Indian craftsmanship, through the play of leaves used ingeniously as a recurring emblem. His scallops exuded sheer class and the mix of fabrics from satin, organza, leather-ite, denim to knits, made acclaimed critic Suzy Menkes term it ‘magical’. We hope the select few invitees enjoys this visual treat at the AIFW SS ‘16.”
He added “I also take this opportunity to thank Ambassador of France, Mr. François Richier, for his constant support to Indian designers and for opening the doors of the French Embassy, so kindly, for this special showing.”
Rahul in a palette of cream and blue, displayed his mastery over cut and texture with heady geometric motifs, sassy pleats, nifty pockets and wowed the fashion capital of the world. Rahul’s international recognition has made him a name to reckon with amongst those who understand the importance of ‘Made in India’ albeit with a contemporary twist. The AIFW SS’16 will give connoisseurs an opportunity to savour his style sensibility
