Amazon Prime Video announces Indian Superstar, Akshay Kumar, as lead actor in their upcoming action-packed Prime Original thriller series, THE END (working title), in collaboration with Abundantia Entertainment (creators of critically acclaimed Prime Original Series, Breathe).
Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios (Worldwide) made the announcement today in Mumbai, in the presence of James Farrell, Head of International Originals, Amazon Prime Video and Vijay Subramaniam, Director & Head – Content, Amazon Prime India.
Akshay Kumar, the 7th highest paid male actor in the world (Forbes), is the first Indian A list superstar to make his digital streaming debut.
As part of the unveiling at a fashion show, superstar Akshay Kumar in all his characteristic daredevilry, walked the ramp with his clothes on fire! The actor is well known across India for his exceptional stunts, often compared to Jackie Chan.
The new series will be a globe-spanning, latest offering to the actor’s fans across 200 countries and territories upon its release exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. The multi-season show, THE END (working title), is presently under active development and aims to appeal to fans of the action-thriller genre worldwide. Being envisioned at an unprecedented scale and cinematic experience, the show promises to bring in the next level of the action genre. Also this week, Amazon Prime Video India will launch it’s next original Made in Heaven (releasing worldwide in English) which is set to disrupt the content space in India with its bold themes.
