After delving into the mythological genre with ‘Ram Setu’, Akshay Kumar is now looking at a Marathi debut. Akki will play the role of iconic ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film, which is titled ‘Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat’, is being directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. The makers arranged for an event for the mahurat shot for the film on Wednesday. Super-elated by doing such a role, Akshay says, “It’s a huge responsibility and a dream-come-true role for me. I was taken aback when I was asked to portray this role. I will be working with Mahesh Manjrekar for the first time and it’s going to be an experience.” The director has grand plans to release the film all over India which was reportedly in the research stage for the last seven years.
