After years of trolling and being called ‘Canada Kumar’, Akshay has finally put a stop to all the negativity. Wishing fans on the occasion of Independence Day, the actor posted official documents announcing that he has given up his Canadian nationality and has become a citizen of India. The Government of India document stated, ‘This is to certify that the person whose particulars are given below has been registered as a citizen of India…’ Along with this document, Akshay wrote, “‘Dil aur citizenship, dono Hindustani’. Happy Independence Day! Jai Hind!” He had initiated the application for an Indian passport a couple of years ago, but the pandemic delayed the process. Apart from enjoying his Indian citizenship, Akshay Kumar is also riding high on the success of his latest release ‘OMG 2’.
