Ameesha Patel had to visit a court in Ranchi, Jharkhand, for a check bounce case dating back to 2018. She appeared before the civil court of senior division judge DN Shukla where the ‘Gadar’ actress pleaded not guilty. A producer from Jharkhand, Ajay Kumar Singh has accused Ameesha Patel and her partner Kuunal Goomer of fraud, intimidation and bouncing a check. Singh had reportedly loaned Rs 2.5 crore to Ameesha Patel for her film ‘Desi Magic’. The deal was to return the money with interest once the film releases. The amount was allegedly paid towards the publicity and other expenses. Though Ameesha and Kuunal did send two cheques of Rs 50 lakhs and Rs 2.5 crores as per their alleged deal, both the cheques were dishonoured. This compelled Singh to file the case against the duo. The court had summoned Ameesha with her lawyer earlier, but they kept avoiding before pleading not guilty now.
