If there’s one sport Bollywood is attracted to the most, it is cricket. No wonder then there is one more film in the making on this sport. Producer of ‘Thalaivii’ and ‘83’, Vishnu Vardhan Induri is backing another cricket-based film. Indian Premier League, better known as IPL, will see a film based on this sporting event. It will be a film adaptation of the book ‘Maverick Commissioner: The IPL – Lalit Modi Saga’ by journalist and author Boria Majumdar. Lalit Modi was the brain behind IPL, which became an instant hit with cricket fans and a money-spinner for all parties associated with it. Excited about the project, Induri says, “Winning the 1983 World Cup was just the tip of the iceberg. Almost a quarter century later came the Neil Armstrong moment of cricket. Formation of the biggest cricket league in the world – the Indian Premier League. It changed the cricketing world forever. Elated to announce that we are adapting this amazing book into a feature film.” More details are eagerly awaited for this project.
