Mahesmati returns….
Well the most anticipated and eagerly awaited movie of the year is here and all are dying to know why did Kattappa kill Amarendra Bahubali? Never before have we seen such a hype or enthusiasm for a movie, leave alone a regional film dubbed in all languages. The cliff hanger on which part 1 ended has had made Kattappa a household name. Will the movie be able to live up to its expectations?
In terms of concept and story, something which must have been planned in the initial stages itself, the movie is true to its core. Also we have to remember it is a fantasy film, hence there are places where one feels things going slightly over the top, but in the bigger scheme of things, it all fits in, or rather it are these excesses which add more valour to the on screen heroism.
Prabhas as Amarendra Bahubali and Sathyaraj as Kattappa, steal the show completely. They are like a house on fire during the entire love angle with Devasena, a love story much delicately handled than the Tamannah one.
Rana and Naseer form the other team of treachery and deceit and do a fantastic job at it. Ramya, Anushka too are strong opponents.
The film in its entire flashback is brilliant. It is just in its real time line, when the story shifts back to Shivudu a.k.a. Mahendra that one feels slightly let down in the action sequence and screenplay. So much so that when you leave the theatre, the last 20 minutes do not leave that impact which the part one had or even in this the interval had. That’s the only grouse that I have with the film.
The film is going to rake in its millions and rightfully so. Rajamouli has proven that with the right intent and vision one can create magic on screen and at the box office. The technical brilliance of the film, be it in its action sequences or sheer bravado of the super hero, makes you root for him and give you the confidence that all will be fine as long as he is there.
Honestly one doesn’t have to judge Rajamouli or Bahubali. One should just celebrate its victory in the fact that it has broken all barriers and truly emerged as a national film, a franchisee, India should be proud of.
