The Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Chhapaak’ is gearing up to release on January 10, 2020. But as the film’s release date nears, controversies have started popping up. In one such attempt, a person named Rakesh Bharti has claimed the copyright over the film’s story. Bharti claims that he had written a story of an acid attack survivor many years back and had even registered the same with the Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association (IMPPA) in February 2015. Hence even he must be given credit for the story. Bharti has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court against ‘Chhapaak’ which states that he had also approached Fox Star Studios in the past with this subject. The plea will be heard on December 27.
