Rani Mukerji returned to the silver screen after a gap of four years, playing a teacher in ‘Hichki’. The film fetched Rs 3.30 crore on its first day, but the numbers grew positively at the box office over the weekend. Saturday recorded a remarkable growth with Rs 5.35 crore and Sunday collected even more, Rs 6.75 crore, marking a total of Rs 15.40 crore in three days. Produced by Yash Raj Films, ‘Hichki’ was made on a low budget of Rs 20 crore, which the makers have already recovered from non-theatrical platforms – digital, satellite and sale of music rights.
