Despite having a lesser-known star cast and a smaller budget, ‘The Kerala Story’ has overtaken Salman Khan’s ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’. Not just that, the former has garnered almost double the money at the box office. The Salman Khan and Pooja Hegde-starrer ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ released on April 21st and could manage about Rs 110 crore at the box office. Although the film’s opening collection was tremendous, due to unfavourable reviews the film couldn’t sustain the momentum. ‘The Kerala Story’, on the other hand, picked-up massively after the controversy and since then, is going strong. Unlike Salman’s film which crossed the Rs 100-crore mark in over a month in theaters, ‘The Kerala Story’ has already collected a whopping Rs 203.47 crore in just 18 days of its release! That’s almost double than KKBKKJ. Since the film is still running in theatres, it will be interesting to see how far it goes in terms of collections.
