Google recently honoured the legendary singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, known as KK with a vibrant Doodle celebrating his legacy. A defining voice of his era, KK enchanted listeners with his rich, soulful melodies, particularly those timeless romantic ballads from the late ‘90s and early 2000s like ‘Aankhon Mein Teri’ and ‘Khuda Jaane’. Born in Delhi on August 23rd 1968, he became a cherished figure in the Indian music scene captivating hearts with his emotive delivery. His entered Bollywood playback in 1999 with the poignant ‘Tadap Tadap’ from ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ marked a pivotal moment and that same year, he released his debut solo album, ‘Pal’ which struck a chord with fans. Over his illustrious career, KK recorded more than 500 Hindi songs, over 200 regional tracks and around 3,500 jingles in 11 languages. Sadly, his life was cut short following a performance in Kolkata, but his legacy endures as a statue was erected in the city to honor the profound impact he had on the world of Indian music.
