Akshay Kumar had postponed the shooting of ‘Ikka’, which is a remake of South Indian film ‘Kaththi’, as he was apparently not too pleased with the script narrated to him. Trade buzz suggests that the actor felt that the plot written for the Hindi film sounded like a remake of the Southern film, whereas Akshay wanted the entire plot to be rewritten and the story be set in Maharashtra. While ‘Kaththi’ was directed by AR Murugadoss, ‘Ikka’ was to be done by one of his associate directors, a newcomer Jagan. However, since Akki wants ‘Ikka’ to be modeled around a new subject and location, Murugadoss will step in and work on the story and script at a later stage.
