Nawazuddin Siddiqui is garnering much praise for his desi moves in his maiden dance number ‘Din Mein Karengey Jagrata’ from Sohail Khan’s upcoming film ‘Freaky Ali’. So, naturally it comes as a surprise when Nawaz reveals that if there’s one thing that ever gave him nightmares – it was the thought of dancing in front of the camera. However, the talented actor shares that shooting for the hit number not only cured him of his phobia of shaking a leg on screen, but has even made him fall in love with dancing.
Nawaz says, “As an actor, nothing has been as challenging for me as dancing. But thanks to Sohail Bhai’s persuasion and Rajiv Surti’s choreography, they made the dancing so much fun and enjoyable that I loved every moment of it. I was dancing not with my feet but with my heart! By the time I fell in love with dancing and started truly enjoying it, I realized that the song had been shot. I really missed dancing more on that song.”
So would he be game for more dancing? “If it’s as catchy and foot-tapping as Freaky Ali’s ‘Din Mein Karengey Jagrata’ then I would love to,” smiles Nawaz.
‘Freaky Ali’ starring Nawazuddin, Arbaaz Khan & Amy Jackson is distributed by B4U Films and will release on 9th September.
