Priyanka Chopra has opened-up about her career at the ongoing MAMI (Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image) Mumbai Film Festival 2023. The actress recalled that she was advised against doing ‘Fashion’, the film which eventually earned her the prestigious National Award. “After ‘Aitraaz’ and ‘Krrish’, I had done work which gave me a solid foundation. I got critical acclaim. People told me, ‘You know your job’, even though I didn’t know I knew my job. That is when I started seeking work that would challenge me.’Ladkiyan (leading actress) female-oriented films career ke end mein karti hain, National Award ke liye’ (actresses take up female-oriented films at the end of their careers for National Award). You have just done ‘Krrish’ and ‘Aitraaz’, female-oriented films kyu kar rahi ho’, they said. ‘Uss zamane mein itna hota bhi nahi tha’ (back then, there were not many female-centric films),” shared Priyanka. She went on to reveal that she had not imagined that the film would become so big.
