South Asian New York Fashion Week (SANYFW) kicked off with a dynamic event at the Shopify NYC location headquarters in Manhattan on July 12th. The event, titled “Business of Fashion: How to Scale Your Business,” featured a compelling panel discussion with esteemed guests including Megha Rao, Designer, and Founder of HoliChic, Sangita Naik – Chief Vendor Management Officer at Kering, Amy Riordan, CEO of Sachin and Babi, and was moderated by Marie Claire’s Entertainment Director, Neha Prakash.
The panel discussion centered on the following key topics:
- An exploration of the professional trajectory in the fashion industry for aspiring entrepreneurs.
- Invaluable insights and recommendations for fashion enthusiasts embarking on their business ventures.
- Uncovering overlooked factors crucial to successfully scaling a fashion business.

- Essential elements required to secure funding for fashion ventures.
SANYFW, founded by Shipra Sharma and Hetal Patel debuted in 2022 as a platform to showcase South Asian designers from across the world.
Sharma and Patel, Co-Founders of SANYFW, expressed their enthusiasm about partnering with the iconic platform Shopify and securing the support of some of the South Asian fashion industry’s foremost experts as panelists. “We couldn’t imagine a better way to kick off Season 2 of SANYFW. The conversations that took place during the event provided profound insights into what it takes to launch and thrive in the fashion business,” they remarked.
The event was curated by Neerja Public Relations and was supported by Vasanti Cosmetics, Sahajan Skincare, Ghlee, Teapigs Tea, Quicklly, and Madam ji Restaurants.
