Last night, Pranna NYC upped its style quotient with Shehnaai Couture celebrating 10 years as New York’s premier Indian multi-designer studio! Held at a favorite Indian fusion hotspot, the evening featured an elaborate fashion show where models strutted down the runway wearing a display of pastel dhotis, tail jackets, and silhouetted gowns to a live violinist’s music.
Guests sipped on champagne while owners Shirin and Sanjeev Vinayak presented their Fall/Winter 2015 and Spring/Summer 2016 collections. They dedicated the show to those battling and fighting cancer everyday as Shirin explained, “We support their journey with all we can.”
Four cancer survivors also graced the runway, wearing stunning lehnga sarees and kurtas that were then auctioned off with proceeds donated to the American Cancer Society.
All in all, it was a wonderful event for a great cause.
