Sonu Sood seems to have emerged as a true hero during the lockdown period in India. The ‘Simmba’ actor was much praised for his charity work during the times of Covid-19 when he made sure that labourers reached their villages safe and sound. Apart from giving them food and shelter, Sonu also held their hands in finding jobs to earn a livelihood. Thanks to all his efforts, villagers in Telangana’s Siddipet district have built a temple in his name. Flabbergasted by the gesture of people from Dubba Tanda village, Sonu says, “This is an extremely overwhelming moment. But at the same time, I don’t deserve this. I’m just a common man who helped his brothers and sisters.” After several months of standing by the poor, Sonu continues to do good work.
