Vidya Balan will be seen playing the role of a wife facing domestic violence from an abusive husband in her next movie, Hamari Adhuri Kahani. Speaking about a pressing issue, the actress said, “When I read the script it was obviously out of my realm of reality. At the same time, you are aware that domestic violence is a thing that women are dealing with from all walks of life, but don’t speak about it.”
Elaborating about her character in the film, Vidya said, “She is a traditional woman who believes that she is her husband’s property. So she never questions how he treats her or controls her life. For the character, it is just her reality until someone respects and values her.”
